My Maytag Microwave
A microwave is a must-have in my book. Perhaps I’m spoiled, but I’ve come to depend on this modern-day convenience. We use our microwave frequently for reheating meals and leftovers, making tea, and much more.
Before our Maytag microwave arrived, we had a regular microwave that sat on the counter. It worked great and I had no complaints. But the prospect of having a new microwave over the range and freeing up counter space was nice.
I’ll start with the obvious – isn’t it pretty? It looks so fancy sitting above my range.

The inside of the microwave is huge. So big, in fact, a 10×15″ baking dish can fit inside. Wow! I can easily heat up an entire casserole dish in this microwave.
It also has a rack to hold twice as much! I don’t use this feature often, but it’s a nice option.

The microwave has a WideGlide tray that gently glides back and forth for more even heating and cooking.

This Maytag microwave includes sensor options. The idea is that the microwave “senses” how much food and determines the cook time. It’s supposed to take the guess work out of how much time the food needs to be cooked or reheated.

For me, the jury is still out on this feature. It doesn’t always work well. I’ve had the microwave reheat leftover dinner plates perfectly but other times, it takes 6+ minutes to reheat a plate and the food is dried out. I’ve heard mixed reviews on this feature so I don’t know if it’s my particular model or the idea in general needs more fine tuning.
But it’s not a big deal for me because the regular aspect of the microwave – where I choose the time – works great. So overall I’m quite happy with my microwave. And the appearance and size are second to none.

The Maytag JetClean Dishwasher
My old dishwasher was so old, it was on the last leg this past year so Maytag came to the rescue just in time. The model I received is the beautiful stainless steel Maytag Jetclean Plus Dishwasher.

While it fits in same spot our old dishwasher did, our new Maytag dishwasher has an oversize capacity plus tall tub.
Plus it’s so sleek and nice looking, both inside and out!

And is it ever tall inside! I am still amazed at how much we can fit inside this dishwasher. Look at how well it holds my huge soup stockpot! That pot would never have fit in my old dishwasher. And there’s plenty of room to spare!

One reason for the large capacity of this Maytag dishwasher is the premium adjustable rack. By simply moving the sides up and down, I can fit more in the top or bottom rack.

One day, I had the bottom of the dishwasher packed full with plates and bowls, but I wanted to add my KitchenAid mixer bowl. With no room on the bottom, I knew it was the perfect chance to try out the capacity of the upper rack. By simply moving the upper rack down a couple of inches, I could fit my bowl in.
The result? Clean dishes with far less work for me!
But that’s how many dishes this dishwasher can fit, how well does it wash?
Saving Money And Time
There’s no rinsing required with this dishwasher. We simply scrape off excess food and put it in. As a result, we’re able to save on our water bill (less water used) and it saves time! Totally awesome! It’s also energy efficient. I learned on my recent trip to Whirlpool headquarters that it costs ,on average, less than 12 cents to run one cycle!
There’s several different cycle options with this dishwasher.

The two I use the most are AUTO and JetClean Plus. For typical loads, I just push auto. However, if I’m loading pots or a casserole dish with baked on food, I opt for the JetClean cycle. This cycle takes a little longer and does it ever do the job! Using high pressure spray jets and hotter temperatures, it really brings the power to clean off stuck on, tough food for a better clean.
There’s also added options, like tough scrub, sanitize, etc.

Cool Features
There’s a bunch of little things with this Maytag dishwasher that really make it stand out. The top rack is built almost like “stadium seating” allowing for more room on the bottom left rack. And drier dishes!

There’s even a little blocked off area to ensure we don’t prevent the detergent dispenser from opening.

And there’s no guess work on how much rinse aid is remaining.

The bottom of the dishwasher has a 4 blade chopper (hidden of course.) This prevents food bits from clogging in the pipes. That equals less maintenance for us!

Awesomeness
Another awesome thing about this dishwasher is how quiet it is. The first time we ran the dishwasher, I found myself checking to make sure it was running because I could hardly hear it. Our old dishwasher was so noisy, we only ran it at night! Now I usually run two loads a day – one in the morning or early afternoon with breakfast and lunch dishes and a second load at night.
And with eight people in our house (we have some friends living with us for the time being as they transition to a new home), that’s a LOT of dishes everyday.
I love everything about my new dishwasher, but my favorite part is pretty simple – I can depend on my dishes always coming out clean. Time after time. It’s fantastic!

I have been blown away by my Maytag appliances.

They truly deliver in the kitchen, not just by doing the job in a dependable fashion, but by going above and beyond with innovative features that really help make my life easier. We are definitely a Maytag family for life now.
Once again, I am so honored to be a Maytag Kitchen Mom. Thanks, Maytag!

Love those appliances! Our microwave is going and I think this is what I’m going to get after reading this. You did a great job of explaining all that the microwave and dishwasher can do.

It sounds like you really love your Maytag appliances. I really like all the features you mention about the Maytag dishwasher. It looks extra big which I would love. I tend to wait for a full load to run my dishwasher and usually by that time I find out there isn’t enough room in the dishwasher. I might have to look to Maytag for my next dishwasher. Thanks for the great reviews!!

I would love to have these appliances! My dishwasher is circa 1982 and I have a teeny-weenie microwave more suited to a college student than a family of four. But they just keep on going so I can’t justify replacing – yet. Thank you for the reviews – it gives a girl hope for something better in the future!

That’s very impressive, Jean! Stuff rarely lasts that long now days.
I just love this microwave so much . Would love to have one of them. But I just got a different one but not as nice as this one. Yes I need my microwave too. As for the dishwasher – yes that is nice too but I am not one that has to have a dishwasher- I got hands – I figure the time it takes to clean most of the food off and put them in the dishwasher and all I could just as easily wash them – then you have to take them all out again before you can reload it again.

Your Maytag microwave and dishwasher look very sleek and technologically up-to-the-latest in kitchen fashion! The microwave is cool that it has the sensory measure, but I mostly like the extended capacity of it. The dishwasher is awesome with its no-need-to-rinse, silent washing, and changeable space and capacity feature! And most liked that it saves you that much off your water bill!
