Family Life and Small Updates

Life has been super busy lately. I have all these great post ideas planned and not enough time to make them happen.

I can’t believe February is already here. I was sorting through photos earlier and putting them in my January folder when I realized that was the wrong month. Oops!

We have some friends staying with us for the time being as they’re transitioning into a new place. It’s been great to have them around (they’re like family) but it’s certainly added another element of busyness to my already hectic schedule. Add in the fact that my children were sick two weeks ago, then I got hit hard with it last week and I am really behind.

In the past, I would have been a wreck and stressing myself out, as I desperately tried to get caught up. Now, I’ve started to gain some perspective and am learning to let some things go. So maybe I won’t be able to share every fabulous Valentine’s Day recipe I had planned to. Blogging 101 didn’t get started again in January. Maybe my weekly One Word Blessings post stopped as quickly as it started. But that’s ok. I think it’s much better to be appreciating my blessings in person than pushing them aside to write about it.

I’m spending time with my children. Homeschooling. Doing cool science projects with Nathan, like making an edible cell. (Haha, that was a unique jello idea for sure!) Reading stories with my little boys who are growing so quickly, I feel like I’m falling behind. Going to Disney on Ice with my sweet Emily last week. (So awesome!)

All that being said, here’s a few recent everyday photos:

Nathan is doing very well with homeschooling again:

Luke is as mischievous as ever. We have tried cutting his hair twice now and he is so wiggly, we had to stop. Nate says to just buzz his head, but he’s too cute – I want to trim his hair not shave it off! He is my baby afterall. :)

Emily loves having baby Cyrena in the house.

Cyrena is 3 months old and such a little doll. I’ve been taking photos for her parents and will share some with you soon.

I don’t have any good photos of Joshua lately, but I did catch this one of my three boys – all in a row – eating dinner. It made me laugh.

Josie, the cat, still loves hanging out in our newly organized homeschool area (which is still working out quite fabulously!)

Our birds are frequently seen hanging out under the kitchen table where they nibble at food scraps – like a dog, I tell you! They’re quite nutty!

Here’s Peter and Piper sleeping – so cute!

How has life been for you, my dear friends? I hope you’ve been well and staying healthy during this yucky cold and flu season!

You have such a beautiful family! It looks to me like you are doing everything just as you should. :) Baby Cyrena is so adorable!! That is totally a cat thing to do. I’m glad that cat doesn’t want to go after the birds under the table!

    Have a great night!
