Baby’s First Haircut

We gave Luke his first haircut this weekend.

Okay, okay, I know. At two Luke’s not really a baby anymore. But he will always be my baby.

His hair was getting so long and Nate kept threatening to buzz his head. Something about Lukey have a mullet and it was way too long. Haha.

I had hoped to just trim his hair because Luke has (d) such adorable blonde curls.

But Luke was too wiggly for a simple trim. There was no way we could take scissors to that head. (By ‘we’, I mean my best friend, Allie and me)

So the clippers had to come out. Allie buzzed his head carefully with the 1″ comb so it wouldn’t be too short. It was still a challenge. We turned on Luke’s favorite Dinosaur Train show, gave him a piece of candy, and Luke still kicked and shrieked like a bucking bronco. Then drooled tootsie roll drool all over my leg. Lovely.

Afterwards, he had that “grown up toddler” look. No more baby curls. *Sniffle*

But he’s still oh-so-cute.

We gave him a bath later so I took the chance to snap a few photos while he was actually sitting in one place. (Do you know how hard it is to get pictures of him lately?!)

Joshua took his bath too.

My sweet precious boys. Last week was quite long and exhausting with both of them being sick and super crabby but that melts away in moments like this.

Yes they are growing up, but I am thankful for the chance to capture special memories.
