I can’t believe January is almost over! And that means Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. One of our favorite Valentine’s Day treats is Frosted Valentine’s Day Butter Cookies and now we have a new favorite – it’s Valentine’s Day Chex Mix. This recipe is so easy to make – even the kids can help. And it’s perfect for any Valentine’s Day party or occasion and tasty too.

Doesn’t it look good?
(scroll to the bottom for the printable recipe)
Here’s what you’ll need:

- 9 cups Rice Chex cereal
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (smooth)
- 4 TB (1/2 stick) butter or margarine
- 2/3 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2-1 cup M&Ms
- 1/4 cup pink and white sprinkles
How to Make Valentine’s Day Chex Mix:
Melt the butter, white chocolate chips, and peanut butter in a bowl in the microwave. Melt for 30 seconds, stir, and continue melting as needed.

Put the rice chex cereal in a large bowl, then pour the peanut butter mixture over.

Stir until the chex is pretty evenly coated. Put 1/2 of the cereal mixture into a gallon ziploc bag and add the powdered sugar. Shake to mix it up.

Line a baking sheet with waxed paper or foil and pour the powdered-sugar-coated chex mix on top. Let it sit for about 1/2 hour to “dry.”

Stir the M&Ms and sprinkles into the chex mix remaining in the bowl.

Let this sit for awhile to dry too.
Then add all the chex mix together and gently stir to combine.

And that’s all it takes to make Valentine’s Day Chex Mix. So easy, right?

One recipe makes about 4-6 cups.

I discovered some cute Valentine’s Day baggies at the dollar store and they’re perfect for this Valentine’s Day Chex Mix. It would be great for school parties or even a special at-home afternoon treat.

It’s not just for kids – adults gobble up this treat too. Just beware, it’s hard to stop eating!

That looks so pretty and festive. I had not thought about adapting Chex Mix to different holidays but now I see the possibilities.
That is MY kind of trail mix! (I’m not a huge fan of many salty foods…sugar is my weakness) Looks like you could use the same recipe for Easter, too!
Yum! My kids would absolutely love this. What a great treat for Valentine’s Day.
