My New Camera: Nikon D7000

I’ve been saving my money and finally had enough to buy a nice camera. After much research and recommendation from some photographer friends, I decided on the Nikon D7000.

I’ve gone from this Sony point-and-shoot, which is pretty good for a point-and-shoot…

…to this gorgeous Nikon, which the Sony simply can’t compete with:

I have a lot to learn, but I’m jumping in! I’ve been reading the manual, checking out online tutorials, and am keeping an eye out for an online class. Anyone have any recommendations for a beginner?

I’m still mainly taking photos in Auto mode as I learn all the settings, but am gradually figuring things out. There is so much to learn, but even already, I am able to take noticeably better photos and I know it will only get better as I learn.

The camera arrived in the mail the day before we left for our trip to Ohio over a week ago, so I have tons of photos from that trip. I am still sorting through them in my spare time (haha, I know very funny; that’s why I am still sorting!) But here’s a couple for now – note, they are completely unedited, aside from adding my watermark:

    We have a Nikon & absolutely LOVE it! By far the most user-friendly camera I have ever owned & takes amazing amateur pictures. We will only buy Nikon now :) Glad you are in love with your new camera!
