Glad ForceFlex Black Bag: From Trash to Treasure

With a family of six, we go have a lot of trash. Diaper pails, kitchen trash, kitty litter, and more, that’s a lot of trash bags. We do recycle and that cuts down on things considerably, but we still need a reliable trash bag that’s not going to split down the side and spill everything.

Glad has many varieties of trash bags and one of my favorites is the Glad ForceFlex Black Bags. These trash bags have special “diamond textures” that stretch instead of ripping and can handle large loads. They are available in drawstring and quick-tie closures and come in 30 and 30 gallon sizes.

I was sent a box of the Glad ForceFlex Black Bags and they came at the perfect time. I’m starting spring cleaning and organizing and that means I need lots of trash bags. I throw out a lot of old junk, but I also donate a lot too. I’ve been going through the loads of clothing we have and have quite a large pile that needs to donated. Our old trash bags would often rip because I stuff too much into one bag and I knew this would be a great test for Glad ForceFlex Black Bags.

Check out my son holding the heavy bag of clothes:

When he put it down, Luke went and poked the bag. I immediately thought he had ripped a hole in it, but I was happy to see that the Glad bags held up very well and while it was stretched, there was no hole! If Glad ForceFlex Black Bags can stand up in my household, I know they are sturdy.

Glad knows all about the messes of life and this year, they want to encourage us to stop stressing over the mess and just let go. Designers Tracy Hutson and Tanya McQueen, of The Picker Sisters, travel the country helping people turn trash into treasure. They know that a lot of the best memories in life come from “wild moments” and are putting their expertise to the test in practical and inspirational ways. In teaming up with Glad, they want us to think about re-purposing things instead of just tossing them.

Glad has also teamed up with Jason Mecier, a famous mosaic artist, to help us “celebrate life’s wild moments.” Jason has created four pieces of art from people’s trash and items donated by celebrities. These pieces are being auctioned off at eBay right now, with all proceeds going to the Keep America Beautiful Great Cleanup Event. You can bid on any of these unique 4 pieces of art at the Glad Black Bag Recycled Art Auction which ends on April 26th.

“I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Glad Black Bag and received a Glad Black Bag product and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate. I was also asked to “pin” one (1) Glad Black Bag Art Auction photo on Pinterest.”
