Zippies “the pals that hang” are quickly becoming the latest kids’ craze. These round flexible characters help kids label their things, from backpacks to water bottles to jackets, even bicycles. Each Zippies tag has a character on one side and a place to write contact information on the other. With their durable elastic nylon cord, rugged carabiner clip, push button slider, and soft rubber non-slip surface, Zippies are built to last for tons of fun for kids.
Zippies are really cute and my kids liked them a lot. They immediately each laid claim to the ones we were sent and wanted me to help them attach it to their backpacks. I can always use another way to label their belongings and I was particularly pleased with how sturdy Zippies are. I can tell they will last through a lot of wear and tear, plus they wipe off easily if they were to get dirty. One of my favorite things about Zippies is that you can easily remove them whenever you want. So when my daughter outgrows her jacket, it’s no problem; her Zippies character can come along to the new coat.
They can also help stop the spread of germs through simply labeling beverages so your kids don’t pass them (both the beverage and germs) around.
So that’s the practical side to Zippies, how about the cute character side? There are currently 10 different characters in the limited-edition 1st series. Characters include Wally the Walrus, Flops the Bunny, and Tazmo the Tiger. I think Faina the Frog is my personal favorite, although Emily’s favorite is Kayla, the “high-energy girl” and Nathan likes Chip, the “cool dude.”
I can see why Zippies are the recipient of the 2010 Creative Child Magazine Product of the Year award; they are a great addition to back-to-school products this year.
