A Small Update

I am writing to you all from my brand new laptop that my wonderful husband bought me!

I’m now on modified bedrest. I am doing everything possible to stay off my feet as much as possible. Obviously that is much easier said than done when I am a full time mom to 3 young children and homeschooling, but thanks to my supportive hubby and the Lord’s grace, we will figure it out.

After doing much research, talking to other moms who have been in my shoes or similar (it actually has been surprisingly hard to find other moms who have gone through this exact scenario), speaking to my doctor’s nurse, and due to the fact that I’ve been having frequent contractions the past few days (stress anyone?), we’ve decided to take a pro-active approach and limit my activity. It all comes down to this: I could continue my normal activities and everything might be just fine. Or I could continue my activities, my water could break, and I would forever wonder if it was because I did too much & could I have prevented it? I’d much rather look back and say I was extra careful & didn’t need to be, versus the other side. Better safe than sorry.

If I was farther along, it might be different, but this next month is crucial for Luke’s development. If we can keep him in until 28 weeks, he will have a much better chance of survival with less complications. After 28 weeks, we’ll re-evaluate.

Thanks for the prayers & support. It means a lot. I’ll keep you updated – I have lots more time for that now. I’m trying to get some pictures posted of our trip to the fair & our visit with my sister, but I’m still getting used to my new computer & now of course switching between the desktop where all my pictures are and my laptop. Which by the way, I absolutely love, and thanks again to my incredibly hubby who was so thoughtful to get me one. He wanted me to be able to relax more easily & knew I could do that better if I had a laptop.

I also have to share that he was so incredibly sweet yesterday & in addition to running errands for me, he put away all my groceries, made dinner, swept, vacuumed, mopped, and did several loads of laundry. Do I have a gem of a husband or what?! Thank you so much, hon, I am so grateful for you & I love you so much!
